Meth Xpert New Zealand Ltd made the decision to voluntarily suspend their Accreditation mid 2022.
The IANZ Accreditation programme requires Government legislation and regulations to finalise and the methamphetamine industry has been "promised this" since the accreditation programme began.
From 2018 until 2022, Meth Xpert New Zealand Ltd held IANZ Accreditation. That meant that we had undergone independent and third party assessment that recognised our scientific and technical competency.
Being accredited ensured consistency across the country for Methamphetamine samplers for testing. Accreditation with IANZ meant that we had formal confirmation on our competency for Meth Testing that is internationally recognised.

IANZ also accredit testing laboratories. They do this so that there is no conflict of interest, that is, a Sampler, should not be testing their own samples.

Under the NZS 8510:2017 Standards, all testing Laboratories must be accredited to the standards. This means that a laboratory cannot do its own testing of a property and then analyse its own results.
