As recommended in NZS8510:2017 and the Ministry of Health Guidelines, we are independent to the clean up/remediation companies – this ensures you get unbiased and independent sampling, assessment and advice. This protects the clients from being “taken to the cleaners”. Our independence ensures you are getting the very best unbiased advice.
Depending on the levels found in your property there are different methods that can be used for the remediation. The cost can vary hugely depending on which method and the severity of the contamination.
All procedures require the removal of all absorbent/porous material: Examples include but are not restricted to electrical fittings, curtains, carpet, hollow core doors, pinex ceilings, wallpapers.
Not all rooms definitely need clean up – only those rooms over the safety limits according to NZS8510:2017. These will be listed on the report you receive from us following your Discreet Lab Based Samples. Our report can be forwarded to the decontamination/remediation specialists to help them quote and advise on the best form of clean up.
Option 1: Decontamination
Foam is sprayed around the property to all surfaces that remain after the removal of porous material.
The product is left to “dwell” or work on the surfaces.
Post decontamination the house must be cleared by re-sampling and assessment using the Discreet Lab Based Samples.
Option 2: Strip and Replace
All contaminated surfaces must be removed (by specialists).
Care must be taken to isolate and remove dust created so not to re-contaminate the property.
Once the materials are removed the house must be cleared by re-sampling and assessment with the Discreet Lab Based Samples.
All MethXpert reports come with recommendations for remediation - feel free to speak to us for further information. MethXpert is not a contamination cleaning company therefore you know you are getting non-bias report towards clean up recommendations.
