- What is heavy metal testing?

A number of corrosives are used in the manufacturing process. These agents cause surface contamination through accidental spillage during handling and cooking and the accumulation of these hazardous substances from their aerosols or vapour. Primarily Methamphetamine is the main contaminant that is swabbed for. In most cases where surfaces or appliances show visible signs of staining consistent with that of iodine staining, they will typically be removed and will not need to be sampled. However if the need arises, Meth Xpert NZ can swab for heavy metal contaminants. This would be used in a situation where a known clandestine lab has been in operation. Or to give contributing evidence to support the likelihood of a historical Methamphetamine laboratory.
